Legarda on 2018 Climate Change Consciousness Week: Climate Action is Local

In observance of the 2018 Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week, Senator Loren Legarda emphasized the importance of inciting and sustaining local climate action.

“At the global stage, we are forging a bold, strategic vision for adaptation. But we must then contextualize our discussions on our efforts on the ground: climate action is local. For us in the Philippines, adaptation is a matter of survival. We have been urging both our public and private sectors to embrace adaptation and to work together for a secure and resilient future,” Legarda said.

Legarda Bats for Regulation of Single-Use Plastic

In observance of National Environmental Awareness Month, Senator Loren Legarda renewed her call to ban the use of single-use plastic products as an effective and immediate way to reduce waste.

Legarda, author of Republic Act No. 9512 or the Environmental Awareness and Education Act that designated November as Environmental Awareness Month, said that single-use plastics end up as litter, clogging drainages, polluting waterways and even endangering marine animals, human health, and ecosystem.

Hibla Travelling Exhibition Goes to Frankfurt

The Hibla ng Lahing Filipino Travelling Exhibition is now in Frankfurt, Germany until December 3, 2018, Senator Loren Legarda announced today.

The National Museum of the Philippines, in partnership with the Office of Senator Loren Legarda and the Philippine Consulate General of Frankfurt launched the Hibla ng Lahing Filipino Travelling Exhibition at the Design Offices Work Loft Wiesenhüttenplatz, Frankfurt last November 7.

Legarda Promotes Culture-Based Livelihood in Antique

Senator Loren Legarda aims to empower local communities in her home province of Antique through livelihood programs that not only bring income to families but also preserve the cultural heritage of the province.
