Innovation is Key to Inclusive Growth and Development —Legarda

Senator Loren Legarda today said that innovation is the key that will drive the Philippines not only to achieving inclusive growth and development, but also to becoming one of the innovation leaders in Asia. 

Legarda made the statement as the Senate adopted and ratified the bicameral conference committee report on the proposed Philippine Innovation Bill, which she principally authored. She also thanked Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, Chair of the Senate Committee on Economic Affairs, for sponsoring the measure.

The recent survey conducted by Random Access Consultants, Inc. (RACI) from January 26-29, 2019 showed that Legarda continued to widen her lead against former Governor Exequiel Javier. 

Legarda: Institutionalization of 4Ps Bill to Help Reduce Poverty, Promote Human Capital Dev’t

Senator Loren Legarda today hailed the Senate’s approval on third and final reading of the measure institutionalizing the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and the proposed Community-Based Monitoring System, which are seen to be effective instruments to address poverty.

Legarda said that the 4Ps Bill seeks to institutionalize the program to reduce chronic poverty and promote human capital development in the country.
