11 Botika ng Bayan in Antique to fully operate this April

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – Eleven Botika ng Bayan will go on full operation in various health units (RHUs) in the province before the end of this month.

Dr. Feman Rene Autajay, Department of Health (DOH) Team Leader in the province, said residents will now be able to buy their medicines from any of the branches near them. He noted that the Botika ng Bayan is established in municipalities where there are no government hospitals.

“Botika ng Bayan in the RHUs have also been assigned with pharmacists by the DOH,” he said in an interview on Wednesday.

Public asked not to medicate before vaccination

House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda yesterday called for more aggressive contact tracing to curb the surge in COVID-19 cases.

In a statement, the former senator and now Antique congresswoman cited the effectiveness of contact tracing in containing infectious disease outbreaks.

7,379 cases lowest in two weeks

The Philippines logged on Tuesday 7,379 new cases—the lowest in two weeks—of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the  total to 953,106, as eight laboratories failed to submit their data on time, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.

The DOH also reported 21,664 persons who recently recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 809,959, which is 85 percent of the total.
