Senator Loren Legarda today lauded the Department of Education for the allotment of funds for indigenous peoples’ (IP) education and expressed support to the agency’s effort to conserve heritage schools in the country.

Legarda: Enough of the destruction of our coral reefs

Senator Loren Legarda today reiterated her call on the Philippine Coast Guard to be more vigilant in guarding Philippine waters following another incident of a foreign vessel running aground a coral reef within the country’s waters.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that the MV Unicorn Lodger, with 18 Vietnamese crew onboard, ran aground in the area of Sambauan Island, Maripipi, Biliran on Thursday night.

Legarda Calls for Constant Vigilance Amid Rainy Season

Senator Loren Legarda today called for constant vigilance among government authorities, communities and citizens as the rainy season has already started and especially with the southwest monsoon bringing heavy rains in several parts of the country.
