Senator Loren Legarda today said she is hopeful that the Summit of the Consciences for the Climate in Paris, France could greatly contribute to a successful climate change negotiations in December.

In line with this year’s celebration of the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week (July 17-23), Senator Loren Legarda today urged the government to ensure that personswith disabilities (PWDs) are engaged in disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) programs.
Legarda said that aside from ensuring access to government services, PWDs should also be consulted in crafting DRRM plans and involved in disaster preparedness efforts so that their special concerns are addressed.

Sen. Loren Legarda said Sunday she would be taking part in a Summit of the Conscience for the Climate on Monday in Paris.
In a statement, she said the summit aims to enjoin every citizen of the world to take action to address climate change.
“Until we have taken it upon ourselves to be part of the solution… then the greatest challenge we will have to fight to combat the warming climate and its effects is our own indifference,” Legarda said.
