In celebration of International Museum Day (May 18), Senator Loren Legarda encouraged everyone to make frequent visits to museums to enrich understanding of our culture and history.
“Art and culture are food for the soul. It enriches our understanding of our tradition and history and promotes better understanding especially among Filipinos whose culture is very diverse,” said Legarda.
Senator Loren Legarda today welcomed the Quezon City Court’s ruling ordering the release of the retirement benefits of lawyers from the Public Attorneys Office (PAO) worth P178 million, saying that our public attorneys deserve adequate retirement benefits after long years of hard work and dedication to public interest practice.
The Philippines triumphantly returned for a second consecutive participation in the Venice Art Biennale with a stronger showing as it presented a national pavilion curated by Joselina Cruz featuring two important Filipino artists—Lani Maestro and Manuel Ocampo—in a prime space at the Arsenale in Venice, Italy.
Senator Loren Legarda today hailed the Senate’s approval on third and final reading of the Mental Health Bill under Senate Bill No. 1354, which seeks to provide affordable and accessible mental health services to Filipinos with mental disabilities.
Legarda, coauthor of the proposed bill, said that the enactment of the said measure would usher in a new chapter in mental healthcare policy and service delivery in the Philippines as it would integrate mental heath in all health services and policy initiatives.
