In observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, Senator Loren Legarda today said the battle to stop abuse against women and children is far from over.
“Violence against women is one of the most pervasive human rights abuses in the country despite laws to prevent it. It has to be urgently addressed through the combined efforts of government, NGOs, academe and the private sector by raising public awareness to encourage women in the communities to disclose or report incidents of violence,” she stressed.
In observance of this year’s Climate Change Consciousness Week, Senator Loren Legarda encouraged stronger convergence among national agencies, local government units, climate advocates, and stakeholders to synthesize fragmented adaptation and mitigation efforts into a cohesive action plan that will support the Philippines’ transition towards a climate-smart and climate-resilient nation.
As The Spectre of Comparison, the Philippine Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Art Biennale, comes to a close on November 27 after a six-month run, the documentary about the Philippines’ return to the Venice Biennale will be aired again this week on ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC).
“How To Tie A String Around The World” will air on November 23, 2017, 8:00 p.m.
