Senator Loren Legarda today expressed her support for the resumption of the peace negotiations between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).
Senator Loren Legarda today led the official opening of the Hibla ng Lahing Filipino Travelling Exhibition at the Philippine Embassy in Lisbon, Portugal.
Legarda said that this is an offshoot of the National Museum’s Hibla ng Lahing Filipino: The Artistry of Philippine Textiles gallery, which is her brainchild. The first Hibla Travelling Exhibition was held in London in October 2017.
In observance of the Holy Week, Senator Loren Legarda encouraged Catholics to consider fasting that is environment-friendly.
“Aside from fasting and abstinence from meat, Catholics are encouraged to abstain from vices and activities that we can do without during this period of reflection and spiritual growth. One best way is to carbon fast,” said Legarda.
Senator Loren Legarda has urged the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) to push for a global policy and action that considers and respects the rights and dignity of all migrants and refugees across the globe.
“This Assembly of Parliamentarians can help move forward not just the commitments of the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants 18 months ago, but of many other treaties and pledges to facilitate safe, orderly, and regular migration,” Legarda said at the 138th assembly of the IPU in Geneva, Switzerland on Tuesday.
