In celebration of Eidul Fitr, Senator Loren Legarda, author of RA 9177 also known as the Act Declaring Eidul Fitr a National Holiday, encouraged all Filipinos, regardless of religious beliefs, to express their support for and solidarity to our Muslim brethren both here and abroad.
“I wish to extend my sincerest felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of Eid’l Fitr. As you celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan, I earnestly hope that you are able to reaffirm your deep spiritual devotion and strengthened your faith in God,”Legarda said.
“I welcome the call for the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations to conduct a public hearing on the government’s policy towards China. I agree that the Senate, as an independent body, should assert our role in helping shape the government’s foreign policy.
“I support the decision of the Administration to conduct public consultations first before going back to the negotiating table to resume the peace talks.
