Senator “Inday Loren” Legarda on Monday said that she will continue to bring government services straight to her kasimanwas as she met with barangay leaders and residents of Bugasong town.

“In my three terms as senator, I have always made sure that our taxpayers’ money go straight to where they should be—to the people. Our mandate as a public servant is to ensure we meet their needs and implement programs that will better their lives and their socio-economic condition. This I upheld in the Senate and will continue to uphold as we serve Antiqueños,” said Legarda, who chairs the Senate Committee on Finance.

Legarda Brings Gov’t Closer to Antiqueños

Senator “Inday Loren” Legarda on Sunday met with barangay leaders and residents of San Remigio town to announce her projects for the municipality and stressed that she will bring the government closer to Antiqueños.

Legarda excitedly told the crowd about the upgrading of the San Remigio Rural Health Unit to a polyclinic with complete equipment and the Botika ng Bayan that will make medicine accessible to indigenous peoples such as the Iraynon-Bukidnon and the Ati, who are unable to go to pharmacies and hospitals. She noted that her great grandfather, Ariston Gella, was the first pharmacist of the province and its first representative to the Malolos Congress, which is why she gives importance to health care.

Legarda Wants Antique to be Premier Ecotourism Destination

Senator “Inday Loren” Legarda today said she will turn Antique, her home province, into a premier ecotourism destination that offers various kinds of adventure and experience to different kinds of tourists.

 

“Antique is a treasure trove of natural wonders. It is known as the province where the mountains meet the sea because it is such. It is home to the cleanest rivers, verdant peaks, magnificent beaches and caves, all of which are cared for by Antiqueños,” said Legarda.

Inday Loren Continues to Forward Antiqueño Teachers’ Rights and Welfare

During the 44th Annual Representative Assembly of the Antique Public School Teachers’ Association, Inc. (APSTA), Senator “Inday Loren” Legarda proudly announced her projects for Antiqueño teachers.

 
Legarda, who chairs the Senate Committee on Finance, said that on World Teachers’ Day this year, public school teachers will be receiving a special allowance of P1,000 from the P800-million she allocated under the Department of Education (DepEd) budget for 2019.

Legarda Advances Nature, Culture Preservation in Tibiao

Senator “Inday Loren” Legarda joined an estimated 10,000 residents of Tibiao, Antique in celebrating the town’s rich culture of pottery during its annual Maninihon Festival.

 

Legarda, the festival’s Guest of Honor, was with Governor Rhodora “Dodod” Cadiao and Vice Governor Edgar Denosta in celebrating this year’s festival which carries the theme “Tibiao Banwang Bilidhon, Kabuhi Pasanyugon, Maninihon Sulugon” or “Tibiao Bayang Sagana, Buhay ay Paunlarin, Mga Manggagawa ng Palayok Ipagdiwang.”
