Statement on the Recent Mindanao Bombing

SENATOR LOREN LEGARDA’S STATEMENT ON THE RECENT MINDANAO BOMBING

I strongly condemn the latest act of terrorism in Mindanao, where at least four innocent people died and ten were hurt due to an explosion inside the Mindanao State University (MSU) gymnasium during a religious gathering.

I call on our government and authorities to ensure the safety of our people. Such senseless and cowardly acts of violence have no place in any society and must be met with the full force of justice.

The bombing occurred during a religious occasion, underscoring the need for greater understanding and respect for diverse religious practices and beliefs. It is crucial for us to stand united, demonstrating resilience and solidarity in the face of such acts of violence.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers to the loved ones of those who were killed in the blast, and hope for a speedy recovery for those hurt and injured.
