Antique Harvest Fair
16 December 2018 | Robinsons Place Antique
*Delivered by Ms. Tala Maralit, Chief of Staff, Office of Sen. Legarda
Our beloved province of Antique is abundantly blessed with the richness of the mountains and the bounty of the sea. Through the Antique Harvest, each municipality is able to showcase its best products.
I thought of bringing the Department of Tourism’s Philippine Harvest to our province because it is a good way to promote our organic produce and locally-made products in a place frequented by people.
I have seen DOT’s Philippine Harvest several times at the Central Square mall in Taguig City and I am always amazed at how people living in the city appreciate that they can buy many of the best products from various regions and from MSMEs in just one place.
With the Antique Harvest, we gather the best products from all our towns– muscovado, tablea, handwoven patadyong, hand-made pots, and handicrafts made of nito, bariw, buri, abaca, and bamboo, among many others. This is one way of boosting trade and tourism and promoting our local livelihoods. Through this, we hope to encourage more Antiqueños to promote our products and at the same time, encourage more tourists to visit Antique.
Congratulations to all the participants and we hope to do more Antique Harvest fairs not only in San Jose, but also in all towns of the province.
More power to our Antiqueño artisans, craftspeople, and MSMEs! Kruhay!
