MANILA, Philippines — Senator Loren Legarda on Monday filed a bill seeking to provide a tablet for each student enrolled in public schools and state universities and colleges.
Legarda’s bill known as the “One Tablet, One Student Act of 2022″ was the first measure lodged  in the Senate for the 19th Congress.

Senator Loren Legarda filed on Monday, July 4, her first 10 priority bills ahead of the opening of the 19th Congress on July 25.
Legarda’s proposed legislative measures focus on the education sector from both private and public schools, health workers, livelihood for Filipinos and protection for migrant workers.

Legarda files bill regulating single-use plastics

Senator Loren Legarda has filed a bill regulating the manufacturing, importation and use of single-use products by providing penalties, levies and incentives for industries and consumers.
Called the Single-Use Plastics Regulation and Management Act of 2022, the measure provides an “ambitious yet comprehensive” approach to solving the problem of single-use plastics, Legarda said.
