“Aside from fasting and abstinence from meat, Catholics are encouraged to abstain from vices and activities that we can do without during this period of reflection and spiritual growth. One best way is to carbon fast,” said Legarda.

Senator Loren Legarda has urged the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) to push for a global policy and action that considers and respects the rights and dignity of all migrants and refugees across the globe.
“This Assembly of Parliamentarians can help move forward not just the commitments of the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants 18 months ago, but of many other treaties and pledges to facilitate safe, orderly, and regular migration,” Legarda said at the 138th assembly of the IPU in Geneva, Switzerland on Tuesday.

In a meeting with World Trade Organization (WTO) Director General Roberto Azevedo on March 27, Senator Loren Legarda submitted a notification on the Philippines’ ratification of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with European Free Trade Association (EFTA) States—an intergovernmental organization consisting of the Republic of Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Kingdom of Norway, and the Swiss Confederation.

At the 138th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, Switzerland, Senator Loren Legarda today delivered a statement during the General Debate in Plenary Session, saying that global policy and action should consider and respect the rights and dignity of all migrants and refugees.

The Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF), the Office of Senator Loren Legarda, and the Ifugao State University (IFSU) today unveiled the Language Monument or Bantayog-Wika for the Tuwali language in Lamut, Ifugao.
The Bantayog-Wika for Tuwali is the first in the Cordillera Region and the second language monument erected in the country next to Antique, where the first language marker for Kinaray-a was inaugurated earlier this month. Installation artist Luis ‘Junyee’ Yee, Jr. designed and created the language marker.
