The Philippines has successfully completed its third consecutive participation in the Venice Biennale as it concludes The Spectre of Comparison, the Philippine Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Art Biennale.
The 2017 Philippine Pavilion, curated by Joselina Cruz and featuring the works of Lani Maestro and Manuel Ocampo, completed a six-month run at the Artiglierie of the Arsenale—one of the main exhibition spaces of the Venice Biennale.

In observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, Senator Loren Legarda today said the battle to stop abuse against women and children is far from over.
“Violence against women is one of the most pervasive human rights abuses in the country despite laws to prevent it. It has to be urgently addressed through the combined efforts of government, NGOs, academe and the private sector by raising public awareness to encourage women in the communities to disclose or report incidents of violence,” she stressed.
