Deputy Speaker and Antique Lone District Representative Loren Legarda continues to empower local communities in her home province of Antique by providing more livelihood programs in convergence programs with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the University of Antique (UA).
“Antiqueños already have the skills and the raw materials can be gathered right within the community. All we have to do is to empower them and provide support to further develop livelihood and generate jobs to provide their families and communities alternative sources of income. Our continued collaboration with the DOST and the UA on nutrition programs and technology is one of the most effective programs that we have in support of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province,” Legarda said.

Deputy Speaker and Antique Lone District Representative Loren Legarda expressed her utmost condolences to the bereaved family of former Commission on Elections Chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. who passed away on August 11, 2020 at the age of 80.
“I would like to extend my sympathies to the family of Atty. Boy. We mourn his untimely passing, but at the same time, we express our utmost gratitude to him for the very meaningful life he had lived, and the wisdom and leadership he imparted during his stint as COMELEC Chairman,” Legarda said.

Former Senator, now Deputy Speaker and Antique Congresswoman, Loren Legarda expressed her deepest sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family of former Senator and former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, who passed away last August 8 at age 90.
“Manong Fred was a dear friend whom I got to know better when we campaigned together in 2004. I was running for Vice President, while he ran for the Senate. It was a tough and grueling campaign, but Manong Fred’s amiable presence was a welcome breather, especially when he and I would go together and visit select localities around the country,” said Legarda, now Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
