For emerging Southeast Asian art scenes striving for recognition within the international landscape of contemporary art, Venice is obviously a major focal point. Southeast Asia had little involvement with the Biennale until 2000. The advocacy film, Taklub, continues to receive good reviews following its successful premiere at the 68th Cannes Film Festival in France as part of the Un Certain Regard selection.
As Director Brillante Mendoza led the Taklub entourage during the premiere at the Debussy Theater, Senator Loren Legarda said she felt even prouder of this project, which she principally advocated.

Nora Aunor-starrer gets thumbs up from international movie critics
The Filipino advocacy film, Taklub, successfully premiered this week at the 68th Cannes Film Festival in France as part of the Un Certain Regard selection, according to a press statement released by the office of Senator Loren Legarda.
