Senator Loren Legarda has proposed the creation of a Department of Housing and Urban Development (DHUD) to address the four million housing backlog, which affects about one-fourth of the Philippine population.

Senator Loren Legarda today said that the country should work on improving the state of the environment to include the Philippines among the top 20 economies over the next four decades.
