Senator Loren Legarda today reported her accomplishments as Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations in a span of around two years in the 15th Congress, highlighted by the approval of sixteen international agreements and the investigation on the dumping of toxic waste in Philippine seawaters.
The United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) has released the 2013 Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction, “From Shared Risk to Shared Value: the Business Case for Disaster Risk Reduction”.

Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Climate Change, made the call following the release of the 2103 Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction titled “From Shared Risk to Shared Value: the Business Case for Disaster Risk Reduction”.

Senator Loren Legarda today underscored the improvement in the country’s disaster preparedness and risk reduction strategies but stressed that there is much more to be done in order for the Philippines to become disaster-resilient.
Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Climate Change, noted that a recent report by the World Bank showed the Philippines among the top five countries in the Asia-Pacific in terms of advancing disaster risk reduction strategies.
