Senator Loren Legarda today said she looks forward to a better year ahead for the country, particularly in terms of pursuing sustainable, inclusive and resilient development.
Legarda, who chairs the Senate committees on finance, climate change, and cultural communities, said she is hopeful that government programs for 2016 will not only provide for the basic needs of citizens but also proactively address the risks that threaten meaningful progress.

Sen.Loren Legarda urged all Filipinos on Tuesday to be “environmental heroes” just like national hero Dr. Jose Rizal who had a special commitment to environmental care and management.
She made the call as the 119th death anniversary of Rizal will be commemorated on Wednesday, December 30.
“SHE had the gravitas not many people have. Sometimes she is also childlike.”

Senator Loren Legarda expressed her condolences to the family of Letty Jimenez-Magsanoc, who passed away on December 24, saying that her passing “leaves a void and tugs at the heart.”
“Letty’s work ethic is remarkable and her nose for news is a gift. She had the gravitas not many people have. Sometimes she is also childlike,” said Legarda of the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s longest-serving editor-in-chief.
