Senator Loren Legarda today renewed her call for more aggressive action to address the climate crisis during the 10th anniversary of An Inconvenient Truth, the documentary film on Former US Vice President Al Gore’s campaign to educate people about global warming.
Senator Loren Legarda hailed the signing into law of the Green Jobs Act which offers tax incentives to companies that create green jobs or “employment that contributes to preserving or restoring the quality of the environment”.
Incentives include tax deductions and duty-free importation of equipment, in addition to fiscal and other incentives already granted by existing laws and government orders, issuances and regulations.
In celebration of International Museum Day (May 18), Senator Loren Legarda encouraged everyone to make frequent visits to museums to enrich people’s understanding of their culture and history.
“I hope we can all take time to make regular visits to our museums to immerse in our history and culture. This will help strengthen national identity and pride,” Legarda said.
MABALACAT CITY — Senator Loren Legarda has stressed that people have been focused on development which destroys the world.
“Our extractive and consumptive lifestyle, and misplaced notion of development have brought our world in a state of utter disrepair. We have been so focused on development without realizing that development without conscience destroys the world,” Legarda said.
