Senator Loren Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, today said that the Senate is ready to work on the proposed 2018 national budget as the 2nd Regular Session of the 17th Congress resumes next week.
Legarda made the statement as President Rodrigo Duterte will submit to Congress the 2018 National Expenditure Program (NEP) on the day of his 2nd State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Climate change is undeniably in our midst, increasing the risks of disaster in vulnerable cities and communities—and the Philippines is one of the countries that greatly bear the brunt of the climate crisis. In fact, aside from terrorism, climate change is one of the greatest humanitarian challenges of our time.
Senator Loren Legarda said that the goal of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to well below 2°C and possibly not more than 1.5°C is crucial in ensuring human survival, thus, the need for urgent action from developed and developing countries alike.
