“It is unfortunate that Mr. Trump decided to pull out from the Paris Agreement. The decision reeks of ignorance and condemns US foreign policy into infamy. It is truly a sad day, but we are not hopeless. The way forward is for US cities and states to enforce it. Americans are even eager to do their share. They can continue to demand from their leaders and lead themselves. The private sector can be the game changer.
Senator Loren Legarda today stressed the need to conduct an inventory of marine resources in the Philippine Rise (formerly Benham Rise), emphasizing that this would give the country a clearer view of the importance of this undersea feature and what interventions are necessary to preserve, protect and sustainably manage these resources.
Senator Loren Legarda today hailed the Senate’s approval of the bicameral conference committee report on the proposed Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
Legarda, co-sponsor of the bill, said that the measure institutionalizes the provision of full tuition fee subsidy for students enrolled in all of the country’s state universities and colleges (SUCs), local universities and colleges (LUCs) and in state-run technical-vocational institutions.
