We have lost a pillar of the broadcasting industry with the passing of Manong Joe Taruc. He was a respected veteran broadcaster who ordinary people can relate to as he was sensitive to the ‘damdamin ng bayan.’ He was a staple in the lives of Filipinos who would listen to his strong, but fair and in-depth commentaries every morning.
