Senator Loren Legarda today said that more underemployed and displaced workers would benefit from the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disavantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) Workers Program with increased funding under the 2018 national budget.

Senator Loren Legarda today said that surviving spouses of World War II veterans will receive their remaining unpaid pension from the government this year.
“I am happy to announce that this year, living spouses of deceased World War II veterans should be able to receive full payment of pension arrears due them,” said Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance.

Legarda made the statement as the country observes National Zero Waste Month and the 17th anniversary of Republic Act No. 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) Act, which was signed into law on January 26, 2001.
