PHL Successfully Concludes Participation in 2017 Venice Biennale

The Philippines has successfully completed its third consecutive participation in the Venice Biennale as it concludes The Spectre of Comparison, the Philippine Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Art Biennale.

The 2017 Philippine Pavilion, curated by Joselina Cruz and featuring the works of Lani Maestro and Manuel Ocampo, completed a six-month run at the Artiglierie of the Arsenale—one of the main exhibition spaces of the Venice Biennale.

Legarda Calls for Support to Fight Abuse, Violence Against Women and Children

In observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, Senator Loren Legarda today said the battle to stop abuse against women and children is far from over.

“Violence against women is one of the most pervasive human rights abuses in the country despite laws to prevent it. It has to be urgently addressed through the combined efforts of government, NGOs, academe and the private sector by raising public awareness to encourage women in the communities to disclose or report incidents of violence,” she stressed.

PHL in Venice Biennale Docu to Air Again on November 23

As The Spectre of Comparison, the Philippine Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Art Biennale, comes to a close on November 27 after a six-month run, the documentary about the Philippines’ return to the Venice Biennale will be aired again this week on ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC).

“How To Tie A String Around The World” will air on November 23, 2017, 8:00 p.m.
