Senator Loren Legarda invites everyone to watch the third episode of Buhay na Buhay, featuringKultura ng Pamamanata (Devotion to the Patron Saint and Village Community), on Saturday, March 3, 5:45pm, on GMA News TV.
“This episode explores how Catholicism has become an important part of Filipino culture especially those in the countryside. Celebrations or fiestas commemorating feast days of the Santo Niño, Virgin Mary, Jesus Christ, or a patron saint have brought many communities together,” said Legarda.
On Zero Discrimination Day (March 1), Senator Loren Legarda echoed calls to stop any form of discrimination.
Legarda said that no person should be discriminated based on ethnicity, race, religion, belief, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, language, disability, health or any other reason.
Senator Loren Legarda will attend today two historic events in Antique—the unveiling of the Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino’s (KWF) first Language Monument or Bantayog-Wika in the country and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s (PPO) concert, 25 years after its first performance in the province.

To foster deeper music appreciation among Filipinos, Senator Loren Legarda and Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon will bring the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) to the provinces of Antique and Iloilo for a back-to-back outreach concert on March 1 and 2, respectively.
Under the 2018 national budget, Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, provided additional funding for the PPO’s outreach concerts. These outreach concerts in the provinces aim to promote music appreciation throughout the country.
