Senator Loren Legarda today said that the 2018 national budget sustains support to expand and enhance the capabilities and competency of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance and principal sponsor and author of Republic Act No. 9501 or the Magna Carta for MSMEs, said that under the 2018 General Appropriations Act (GAA), Php1 Billion was allocated for the Pondo sa Pagbabago at Pag-asenso of the Small Business Corporation and Php1 Billion for Shared Service Facilities (SSF) program under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Senator Loren Legarda today said that surviving spouses of World War II veterans will receive their remaining unpaid pension from the government this year.
“I am happy to announce that this year, living spouses of deceased World War II veterans should be able to receive full payment of pension arrears due them,” said Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance.
