Approval by the Senate of a P1.16 billion supplemental budget specifically to help the 830,000 children vaccinated with ‘’Dengvaxia’’ (anti-dengue vaccine) before Congress goes on a sine die adjournment this Friday is held certain.
Sen. Loren Legarda, chairwoman of the Senate finance committee, issued the statement as her committee started Monday its public hearing on three bills seeking an appropriation of P1.16 billion for those vaccinated.
Sen. Loren Legarda, panel chair and author of Senate Bill No. 1794, will preside over the hearing on the proposal to allot P1.16 billion as supplemental appropriation for 2018.
“This first public hearing is our first step toward appropriating a sufficient amount to fund the much-needed support for the Dengvaxia vaccinees by providing them with assistance for medical kits, hospitalization, outpatient care services, like laboratory tests,” Legarda said in a statement.
