Convergence for a 100% Renewable Energy in the Philippines:
A Symposium on Challenges Faced by Stakeholders in Advancing Renewable Energy in the Country
19 July 2018, SEDA Hotel, Vertis North, Diliman, Quezon City
(Introductory Greetings)
Good morning.
I wish to congratulate the organizers of this symposium for continuing the dialogue on renewable energy (RE) development in the country. As one of the authors of the RE Law, I am honored to participate […]
The Philippines continued to rely heavily on coal and “miserably failed” to meet its goal of doubling the installed capacity of renewable capacity, 10 years after the passage of the Renewable Energy Law, Senator Loren Legarda said Wednesday.
ENVIRONMENTALIST Senator Loren Legarda yesterday declared that the past and current government failed to meet the goals of providing renewable energy under the Renewable Energy (RE) Law.
In her speech during the symposium attended by RE stakeholders in Quezon City, Legarda said that as of today, RE stakeholders continue to grapple with mixed signals from those charged with implementing the RE Law even with its passage in December 2008.
