Legarda Lauds Developments on PH Contemporary Art, Hailed Ties of History Exhibit

Senator Loren Legarda expressed her elation that contemporary art in the Philippines is now gaining a lot of support and interest in the global scene and likewise hailed the Philippines hosting of the Ties of History: Art in Southeast Asia as a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

To highlight the importance of the recent enactment of the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System or ENIPAS under Republic Act No. 11038, Senator Loren Legarda invites everyone to watch the re-showing of the first ever Protected Areas documentary series on Philippine television, which will be shown two episodes at a time starting this Friday, July 13, 2018, at 8:30PM on the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC).

Dayaw Features Harvest Rituals in Luzon

Senator Loren Legarda invites the public to watch the fourth episode of Dayaw Season 5:Pagdiwang at Pasasalamat on Thursday, July 12, 6:30 pm, on the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), with livestreaming on abs-cbnnews.com/live and on ANC’s Facebook page.

Episode 4 titled, Ani (Harvest), will take on the harvest rituals in different parts of Luzon in celebration of our agricultural heritage rooted in our respect and care for the environment. Scientists, agriculturalists, and farmers share the marriage of science and folk wisdom as the audience get to witness the traditions of the planting seasons still being practiced today.

Enough of plastic trash

The proposed Plastic Bags Regulation Act (Senate Bill No. 430) of Senator Legarda aims to strictly regulate the production, importation, sale, and use of plastic bags. This measure discourages the use of plastic bags and encourages the use of native reusable bags made of organic or recycled materials, and reusable containers made of glass or non-toxic and non-hazardous materials.
