Senator Loren Legarda today said that the Department of Health’s (DOH) program to provide quality and affordable health care for Filipinos through the upgrading of health facilities has funding under the 2019 national budget.
Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, said that the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) has Php15 billion funding for this year. HFEP is the upgrading of health facilities through investments in infrastructure and medical equipment.
After increasing the chalk allowance of teachers in the past years, Senator Loren Legarda has now introduced a special allowance to public school teachers under the 2019 national budget.
Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, initiated the allocation of additional P800 million under the Department of Education budget. The said allocation will be given to public school teachers, P1,000 per teacher, every World Teachers’ Day on October 5, as an incentive or honorarium.
Senator Loren Legarda today met with Ms. Christiana Figueres, former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and currently the Convenor of Mission 2020, to discuss ways how to further unlock investments to scale up clean and renewable energy development in the country and the world.
