Back-to-back Opening for Hibla, Opens in Bangkok and Prague

The Hibla ng Lahing Filipino Travelling Exhibition has made its back-to-back inaugurations in Bangkok, Thailand and Prague, Czech Republic.

The National Museum of the Philippines, in partnership with the Office of Congresswoman Loren Legarda launched the Hibla ng Lahing Filipino Travelling Exhibition titled Piña-Seda: Pineapple and Silk Cloths from the Tropics at the Museum Siam, Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday, July 4, and at the Naprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures, Prague, Czech Republic on Monday, July 15. The exhibit in Bangkok was launched in partnership with the National Discovery Museum Institute, while the one in Prague was done in partnership with the Naprstek Museum.

Call for Curatorial Proposals: Philippine Participation at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale (2020)

Following the success of the Philippine Pavilion’s 2018 exhibition titled The City Who Had Two Navels, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Office of Congresswoman Loren Legarda, announces the OPEN CALL FOR CURATORIAL PROPOSALS for the Philippine participation at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale, initiated by la Fondazione la Biennale di Venezia. The 17th Venice Architecture Biennale will be opened on May 23, 2020 and will run until November 29, 2020.

With more than 20 years of experience as a multi-awarded broadcast journalist, former Senator now Congresswoman Loren Legarda shared her expertise in ABS-CBN Corporate University’s first Anchor’s Training on Saturday, July 6.

Legarda, who began her broadcasting career in 1981 as an anchor for Newswatch, shared her knowledge and skills in the field of broadcasting and interviewing.

Congresswoman Loren Legarda lauded the opening of the homecoming of “The City Who Had Two Navels” on Tuesday, July 2, the Philippines’ national pavilion at the 16th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. This year’s theme of the Central Exhibition in the Biennale, “Freespace,” urged countries to bring their own Freespace in Venice through the staging of their respective national pavilions.

Legarda brings PPO back to Antique

Congresswoman Loren Legarda, the new Representative of the Lone District of Antique, brought back the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) to her home province to perform back-to-back concerts in the towns of San Jose de Buenavista and Pandan last June 30 and July 1, respectively.

 

Headed by Maestro Herminigildo Ranera, the PPO performed light classics such as the overture to La Gazza Ladra, Annen Polka, and Emperor Waltz, and contemporary pieces such as the Eraserheads Suite, Teleserye Theme Song Medley, and Bohemian Rhapsody/Queen.
