It is a pleasure to be here at the opening of Likha-an: Lunduyan ng Tradisyonal na Sining at Kultura. It is actually a dream come true to be able to formally open this resource center, envisioned to be an inclusive venue that will be the home to the nation’s traditional works of art and a celebration of the traditional artists from our regions.
Deputy Speaker and Antique Congresswoman Loren Legarda today proudly announced the opening of the Likha-an: Lunduyan ng Tradisyonal na Sining at Kultura on August 15, 2019, at Puerta Real Gardens, Intramuros, Manila.
Bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika ngayong Agosto, iginiit ni Deputy Speaker at Antique Congresswoman Loren Legarda ang kahalagahan ng Wikang Filipino at mga katutubong wika sa Filipinas.
Ayon sa kanya, ang mga ito ang nag-uugnay at nagbubuklod sa atin at siyang susi sa kaunlaran, kapayapaan, at katarungan. Binigyang-diin din niya ang malaking papel na ginagampanan ng wika sa ating kasarinlan at kaakuhan.
In line with the southwest monsoon affecting the entire Philippines, Deputy Speaker and Antique Congresswoman Loren Legarda today urged local communities to implement measures to combat climate change and its effects.
Legarda, an environmental champion, said that local communities should learn to adapt to climate change as its effects are getting worse and damaging.
