Senator Loren Legarda yesterday lauded the efforts of the private sector in helping the government address climate change-induced problems that tend to worsen the lives of the poor.
The Philippines’ noted environmental advocate cited the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc (FCCCI), which joined the nation in the celebration of the World Environment Day by means of tree planting Friday.

Thimpu, Bhutan(May 29, 2009) – Senator Loren Legarda today urged the international community to respond to climate change by cooperating in reducing the risks of casualties and damage arising from climate change catastrophes.
Loren said that risks from natural disasters caused by climate change are among the greatest threats faced by the world, especially the developing countries.
This law provides fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to registered enterprises in the tourism enterprise zones created herein to spur investments in the country, generate foreign exchange and employment, and promote tourism industry as an indispensable element of the national economy and an industry of national interest and importance.
